Exchange students
How to apply
Students interested in applying for an Erasmus or an extra-European exchange at the Politecnico di Milano, first have to contact the International Relations Office of their home institution and ask there for information, since each partner university has its own pre-selection process with specific pre-requisites and timing.
Students selected by their home institution are invited to register on-line in order to get username and password needed to get access to the Application Form. Registration will be opened twice a year (deadlines mid-June and mid-January).
The candidate will also have the possibility to
- Prepare a preliminary Learning agreement
- Add an application for Accommodation
Together with the application the following must be attached:
- A Transcript of Records of previous study results
- Two passport sized photos
In some cases the following documents could be required:
- A Portfolio, Letter of motivation and/or CV to be written in English or Italian
All documents must be sent directly to the corresponding StuDesk by home university officials. The acceptance letter, that will be sent to accepted exchange students, must be brought at arrival.
Please note that pre-registered students may log-in even after deadline (using their username and password) in order to
- check how their application proceeds (nomination ok, paper version arrived alright, accepted as an exchange student)
- modify the Learning agreement (the first weeks in Milan students will prepare their definitive Study Plan/Learning agreement using Poliself)
StuDesks
StuDesks (Student Desk) are reference units of the International Exchange Office for incoming and outgoing students, in the framework of an exchange programme. Before, during and after their stay at the Politecnico di Milano, incoming students can contact their StuDesk (see below which is the right one, according to the course or project chosen at the Politecnico di Milano). This office will provide information about accommodation, stay permit, health insurance and anything concerning their life at the Politecnico di Milano.
